Notice at collection (California)
If you live in California, this section is our notice at collection under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, "CCPA"). When we collect your personal information, we collect the categories listed below for the purposes listed next to them. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. How long we keep each kind of information is in How long we keep it. You can use your rights in Your Privacy Choices.
What we collect and why
| Category | Examples | Why we use it |

| Identifiers | Name, postal address, email address, phone number, account login for our portals, project or customer number. | Respond to your request, prepare quotes, manage your project, sign you in to a portal. |
| Contact and customer records | The details you give us on forms, by phone, by email or in person; signatures on contracts and documents. | Communicate with you, contracts and e-signatures, customer service, warranty and records we must keep. |
| Property information | Home address, roof, electrical panel and site details, HOA information, permits and inspection results. | Design your system or roof, get permits and utility approval, schedule and install. |
| Utility bill and energy usage | Utility name, account details shown on your bill, past electricity use and rate plan. | Size your system, estimate savings, apply for interconnection and incentives. |
| Photos and files | Photos of your home, roof, meter and equipment taken by you or our crews; documents you upload. | Design, installation quality checks, permits, warranty and service. |
| Financing information | If you finance, the lender you choose and the result and terms of your application (you apply with the lender directly). | Coordinate your project with your lender and process payments. |
| Communications | Emails, texts, call logs and notes of our conversations. Calls may be recorded only if you are told at the start of the call. | Customer service, scheduling, quality and keeping an accurate record of what was agreed. |
| Device and usage information | Basic technical logs when you visit our website or portals: IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time. | Keep the site working and secure, prevent spam and fraud, and record your text-message consent. |
Sensitive personal information. We don't ask for Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers or bank account numbers on this website. If you finance, you apply with the lender, not with us. Any sensitive personal information we do receive (for example a signed contract with payment details, or account login details for our portals) is used only to provide the services you asked for, as the CCPA allows, and never to infer things about you.
Where it comes from
- You: our website forms, phone calls, emails, texts, portals and in-person visits.
- People who refer you: a friend or neighbor using our refer-a-friend link, or a dealer or sales partner you worked with.
- Companies helping with your project: your utility, permitting offices and inspectors, lenders you choose, equipment manufacturers, and our installation crews.
- Public records: property and permit records, for example to confirm an address or a permit status.
- Automatically: basic technical logs when you use our website or portals.
How we use it
- Answer your request, give you an estimate, and schedule consultations.
- Design, permit, finance, install, inspect and service your project.
- Keep you updated by phone, email, our portal and (only if you agreed) text message.
- Contracts, e-signatures, invoices, payments and commissions to our partners.
- Warranty registration and support.
- Keep our website and portals secure, and prevent spam and fraud.
- Follow the law: contractor, consumer-protection, tax and record-keeping rules.
We may also email you about related services we offer (for example adding a battery to an existing system). You can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with companies and agencies that help us do the work, for the business purposes above. Our service providers are contractually limited to using it for us.
- Installers and subcontractors who work on your home.
- Lenders and financing companies you choose to apply with.
- Utilities, permitting offices, inspectors and incentive programs (for example interconnection, permits and battery incentives).
- Equipment manufacturers and distributors, for ordering and warranty registration.
- E-signature: BoldSign, to send and sign contracts.
- Email, phone and text providers: Google Workspace (email) and Dialpad (calls and texts).
- Hosting and software: Cloudflare (website, portals and data storage, including automated photo checks), our project photo app, and our accounting software.
- Sales partners (dealers) who referred or sold your project, limited to the information about that project.
- Professional advisers (accountants, lawyers, insurers) and government authorities when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and safety.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or merged, under this policy.
No selling or sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the CCPA. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We don't sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser. Since we don't sell or share, nothing more is needed, and you won't be treated differently.
Text messages and mobile numbers
We text you only if you agreed, for example by ticking the "OK to text me" box on our forms. Texts are about your request, appointments and your project. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help. See our SMS Terms.
Mobile numbers and text-messaging consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing. We keep a record of your consent (the wording you agreed to, when, and the IP address it came from) so we can prove it and respect your choices.
Cookies and analytics
Our website doesn't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics. Our portals use cookies that keep you signed in, and your browser may store small settings (like which view you prefer). Our host (Cloudflare) keeps short-term technical logs for security. The website loads its font from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads. If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we'll update this policy first.
How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Requests and estimates that didn't become a project | Up to 3 years after our last contact with you, then deleted |
| Customer and project records (contracts, permits, photos, communications) | The life of your warranties, and at least 10 years after the work is complete (California's period for construction claims) |
| Text-message consent and opt-out records | 5 years after you opt out or we stop texting you |
| Privacy requests and our responses | At least 24 months, as the CCPA requires |
| Financial and tax records | 7 years |
| Website and portal technical logs | Usually 30 days or less, unless needed to investigate a security problem |
We may keep information longer if the law requires it, or to resolve a dispute.
Your Privacy Choices and California rights
If you live in California, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we disclosed it to, and get a copy.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, except what we must keep (for example contracts, permits, warranty and tax records).
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. We don't sell or share, but you may still send this request, and we honor GPC (above).
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We use it only as needed to provide our services, but you may still ask.
- Non-discrimination. We won't deny you service, charge you a different price or give you a different quality of service because you used these rights.
How to send a request: use the form below, email contact@solarlinkenergy.com, or call (213) 561-4999.
Verification. To protect you, we'll confirm your identity before acting, usually by matching your name and at least two of your phone, email and property address to our records, and we may contact you to confirm. For a copy of specific information or a deletion, we may ask for a little more. We'll confirm we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to 45 more days), we'll tell you why.
Authorized agents. Someone you choose can make a request for you. We'll ask for your signed permission and may ask you to verify your identity with us directly, unless the agent has a valid power of attorney.
You can also opt out of marketing emails with the link in the email, and out of texts by replying STOP.

Children
Our website and services are for adults. They are not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We protect your information with access controls (staff, dealers and installers see only what their work needs), encrypted connections and reputable hosting. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll give notice on the website or by email before it takes effect.
